Koala Diptych

I was doing some clean up of my hard drive and I realized I had all these images from my trip to the zoo that I have yet to post. This was from the Koala exhibit at the San Diego Zoo, in a previous post about the Leopard I mentioned my concern for their liberty to move around. I didn’t get that feeling with the Koalas, their area was quite spacious and they all seemed very relaxed and comfortable as in the above diptych. They also seemed to move around the trees as they pleased as shown below. As cute and cuddly they are perceived in the general public, I encourage reconsidering that after looking at their claws 🙂

  6. They’re so cute. On the flip side, I wouldn’t want to be hugged by them. Hehe … I cringed upon seeing those nails like Sabertooth’s.

  7. The koala exhibit as you saw it is no more. The whole right side of the zoo as you enter is under construction. The koalas are off exhibit as a huge, new “outback” exhibit is built for them much closer to the zoo entrance, right across from Flamingo Lagoon. I go to the Zoo once a week and miss seeing our koalas.
