  7. Speaking of sunsets, I got a follow-up email from my friend Richard at the Department of Oceanography and Meteorolgy at Texas A&M University about the negative tides and great sunsets. He went back through the records for 20 years (a little more than I’ve been here in San Diego) and said that since the high pressure systems in Nevada that cause most of the Santa Ana winds occur at around the same time as the lowest of our low tides, it’s highly probable that we get some great sunsets at the same time as the low tides. I feel vindicated………

  11. Love La Jolla, beautiful place. All along the coast north through Torre Pines. I have walked miles of beaches out there. Here I have Lake Michigan. Spent time on the shores here the last two days. Something about the water. Love it! If you check out some of the past postings on this Blog, the lake often takes center stage. Jack
