A bench in Mission Bay that is maintained by the City of San Diego hence the engravement 🙂 I thought the Palm trees with Interstate-5 behind a sign saying “San Diego” was very fitting for the city. Of course there are more significant & popular landmarks in the city but this one is probably more relevant for locals or frequent visitors to the city.
Have a seat!
I saw this colorful bench while walking around Bird Rock in La Jolla, a nice little promotion for the town but slightly hard to read! From a distance, I thought it was some form of artistic structure but once I got close to it it was obviously just a bench. I wanted to emphasize the “Birdrock” and less of the surroundings so I used a wide angle lens to make background appear smaller.
Oh Lucy!
Lucy, Oh Lucy, you must’ve been one special girl for this person to carve your name into the chair so deeply 🙂 I didn’t do it justice as the point of view that I went with focused more on compressing the lines than showing the carving, my bad! If you look at the center of you can see the “LUC” but the “Y” is more difficult to see. This was taken during a hike at Torrey Pines State Reserve.
Crowded

I’ve been trying to redo the shot below now that I have full frame camera, I wanted to redo it in landscape mode and print it on a canvas that I got from groupon.com. Unfortunately the Pier was crowded with 3 other photographers already setup with all their tripods so I thought I would just add to the mayhem. I ended up walking around UCSD’s campus instead and it turned out quite a good shooting opportunity. Goes to show that when one door of opportunity closes there just another one right around the corner full of other opportunities 🙂
