This is a view of Toronto from one of my best friend’s balcony. He just recently moved out of that apartment and I thought I’d post this image that I took from one of my last visits to his place. It was a great view specially with how dynamic the weather is in Toronto, in this occasion it was a break in the clouds from what later became heavy Thunderstorms.
This is the “Entrance” to the south side of the University of Toronto’s main campus, where the Engineering buildings reside and right in between the two poles is the CN Tower. I like how the University has closed the “inside” of the campus to cars and made it just accessible by foot.
Another image of Downtown Toronto but this time it was out of a 2 door car with me in the backseat and using that really small window, it didn’t turn out too bad except for that car driving by on the highway! Here is a video (more…)
With today being the last day of the Olympics, I thought it would be fitting to have a picture of a track. This is the University of Toronto’s main stadium/track with the CN Tower and the Toronto skyline in the background. College sports in Canada are nothing compared to what they are in the US, lets just say getting tickets to a game is not something you concern yourself with 🙂
One of Toronto’s most famous Landmarks, if not the most famous, the CN Tower. It was the world’s tallest standing structure for 34 years (from 1976 to 2010). I took this shot from the Rogers Center (previously known as skydome) when the roof was open during a Blue Jays game.
While having dinner at a fancy restaurant I thought it would be nice to take some snaps of our dinner. As I was firing away, this couple that was sitting behind us thought I was a professional photographer and asked me if I would mind taking a picture for them, he was beginning to mention compensation for me and I just cut him off and said: “Give me your email address and I’ll email you the picture in the next couple of days, I don’t do this for a living so this my gift to you two”.
They were genuinely pleased that I did this for them for free, it was the girl’s birthday and I guess it helped make the night “special” for them. I got a nice & sincere thank you email from him and I must admit that it made me very happy…
Moral of the story: “Its nice to be Nice”… It really is 🙂

– I underexposed the image by 2 stops to capture more of the ambient light and reduce any camera shake
– I set my flash to TTL (+1 EV) as my main source, it was pointing backwards over my right shoulder and to the ceiling at about 45 degrees, I really didn’t want to use direct flash –> just hate that look!!
