Waiting for the game
A handheld HDR that I took at Qualcomm stadium a few months back while waiting for the game between the San Diego Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs. With regards to my post yesterday complaining about the lack of clouds, well…. here are the clouds 🙂
Bokeh for a good cause
For the past 3 years or so the NFL has made October to be Breast Cancer Awareness month. You’ll see a lot of pink ribbons worn by the players and quite a few of them will sport the color pink wherever they can without changing their uniform color 🙂 I got this necklace while attending the dolphins game, and to be honest within seconds of getting it I’ve had this shot in mind. Finally got to do it this week while leaving work late, the necklace was hanging off my rear view mirror and I saw these tiny lights from a building far away which I thought would give me the effect that I wanted; I opened up my aperture and there it is…
Qualcomm Stadium
Qualcomm Stadium, home of the San Diego Chargers.
Took this image 2 weeks ago, I was lucky enough to go twice in the past 7 days. A friend of mine invited me to this particular game against the Kansas City Chiefs and then I went this past weekend to the game vs the Miami Dolphins. Luckily they won both games and my record at the Chargers game stands at 4-2, the game is so much more fun when the Chargers win 🙂
Tailgating with Chargers fans
A friend of mine was kind enough to invite me to a Chargers game this past Sunday, the Chargers were playing the Kansas City Chiefs in the first divisional match for the Chargers this season. We got in touch with our other friend from work, who is a season ticket holder and we got to tailgate with him and his crew at Qualcomm Stadium. It was a lot of fun as we watched highlights from the other matches going on in the league, it was my first true tailgating experience so wasn’t really sure what happens. The best way to describe it is going to a picnic with your friends but outside the stadium, and just like when you go to any park: some groups are tame and some get out of control. Luckily our group and the people around us were all good fun folks 🙂
Bolt Nation
Today is the day that many NFL fans had been waiting for: the beginning of the season for their respective teams. Green Bay & New Orleans had already kicked off the season on Thursday night but today is when we get to see the excitement of the regular season in full effect with up to the minute updates and highlights of action around the league. Living in San Diego I can definitely feel Bolt Nation fever all around town, you can’t help but notice the conversation; personally I’m very excited about the season and quite optimistic about the Chargers chances at making a playoff run. Having said that, I don’t know any bigger fan than one of my colleagues at work; he’s an ~11 year season ticket holder and doesn’t miss a match. The above picture was taken a few minutes after the blackout on Thursday night, he was getting his gear ready and thats when the lights went out – no pun intended 🙂 (more…)
