This was a storage room/area in Solana beach for the lifeguards. I thought it was an electric room but right around sunset I saw a lifeguard empty some of his belongings in that room and then lock it up again; I’m referring to things such as floats. Its a bit odd to see the storage area not close to the ocean but that part of Solana beach has a very narrow beach so I suppose it makes sense.

This one is back from March in Solana Beach, it was actually a difficult one to take. There was actually a fence covering the bulldozer that was blocking the view. I saw a closed industrial size garbage container with yellow poles that block cars from entering right beside it, stood on the poles and placed the tripod on the the container and I snapped a couple of brackets and this what I got; enjoy the view without the smell 🙂

This place has to take the cake in terms of most bizarre location! Out of sight, the name is so appropriate 🙂 Initially I thought it was a storage location for someone but looking inside the windows there were pots & pans and it clearly looked like the place is open for business. I got there late afternoon so it was already closed by then.
Given the location, I got the feeling that it caters mostly to surfers considering how close it is to the beach and mostly locals in the Solana Beach area. Looked it up on google and the reviews tend to agree with my assessment 🙂
P.S. does anyone know why images look soft when shrunk to fit within the page? If you click on the actual image its a lot sharper then when viewed with the blog entry! Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. 4/7/2011 Update –> I’m back to hosting my images on flickr, they just show up sharp here!!
